A fire that erupted on Monday, April 22, in the parking lot extension of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) caused damage to 19 vehicles. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as the blaze was swiftly extinguished by the airport's Rescue and Firefighting Division by 1:57 pm.

Initial reports from the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) indicated that the fire originated from a "small grass fire," which quickly escalated, engulfing vehicles parked in Terminal 3's

extension parking lot. Images and footage captured at the scene reveal the extent of the damage, with multiple vehicles left charred by the flames.

Upon receiving the report at 1:28 pm, MIAA promptly dispatched five firetrucks to the location. Thanks to their rapid response, the fire was brought under control by 1:40 pm. The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident.

In a statement released on Monday, MIAA assured that statements from parking attendants, airport security personnel, and individuals stationed in adjacent parking lots would be gathered to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the fire.

MIAA General Manager Eric Ines expressed relief that no injuries occurred during the incident and pledged full cooperation with the BFP's investigation. "We are relieved to know that no one was hurt or injured in the incident. I have directed all pertinent MIAA units to give their full support to the BFP for the speedy completion of their investigation," said Ines.

While the incident underscores the importance of fire safety measures, it also highlights the necessity of being prepared for unforeseen events, such as vehicle-related accidents or fires. One crucial aspect of such preparedness is having comprehensive car insurance coverage.

Whether it's protecting against damages caused by accidents, theft, or unforeseen incidents like fires, having car insurance provides invaluable financial protection and peace of mind. In situations like the recent fire at the NAIA Terminal 3 parking lot, having insurance coverage can help alleviate the financial burden of repairing or replacing damaged vehicles.
