On October 29, 1962, Edmundo F. Unson, Sr. together with other businessmen founded The Mercantile Insurance Co., Inc.

The early years of Mercantile Insurance were spent in the bustling district of Escolta, Manila and five (5) years later, transferred to Juan Luna, Binondo. In 1975 it built and found its current home in the historic Walled City of Intramuros.

Through the years, its volume of business grew and this necessitated the setting up of regional offices in Cebu, Davao, Bacolod, Cagayan De Oro, San Fernando-Pampanga, Calabarzon, Dagupan, Legaspi and soon will open more in progressive areas.

Mercantile’s Retained Premiums grew from P255 Million in 2013 to P570 Million in 2016. Likewise, its Total Assests rose from P 800 Milllion to P1.3 Billion.

It kept its strong reputation of providing excellent and personalized service both retail and corporate accounts.
Today, The Mercantile Insurance Company has reached another milestone in the annals of the company history. It was acquired by partnership with Camerton Incorporated, the holding company of Cirtek Holdings Philippines Corporation, Figaro Coffee, Tien Ma’s, Angel’s Pizza.

With the coming in of the new partner, Mercantile Insurance Co., Inc. will assert its position to be one of the most stable, dynamic and respected names in the non-life insurance industry.

TOWING

· Maximum of PHP 5,000 per event-towing from residence is covered. The following are the exclusions: mechanical breakdown due to lack of water, petrol and secondary towing, towing to assured residence CASA to CASA.

· Accident-related Unlimited events. PHP 5,000 per event

· Mechanical breakdown Maximum of 3 events. PHP 5,000 per event.

MINOR ON SITE REPAIR

· Maximum of PHP 5,000 per event. Maximum 3 events.

ALTERNATIVE TRAVEL ASSISTANCE

· Php 2,000.00 per event up to residence/destination- (going to residence) (if vehicle cannot be repaired within 6 hours.)

ARRANGEMENT FOR RENTAL TRANSPORT (travel to assured’s destination)

· Php 2,000.00 per event up to destination. 1 event per year(going to residence) (if vehicle cannot be repaired within 48 hours) (50kms away from residence)

VEHICLE REMOVAL

(e.g. fall into ravine) Maximum of Php 10,000.00 with crane.
